Building Reliable React Native Apps in Unreliable Environments
Real-world React Native applications rarely operate under perfect conditions. Devices disconnect, network requests fail, background execution gets interrupted, and asynchronous events arrive in unexpected orders. Yet users still expect a seamless experience.
In this session, I'll share practical patterns for building reliable React Native applications in unreliable environments using deterministic architecture and state machines. Drawing from real-world connected-device applications, we'll explore how to model complex workflows, recover gracefully from failures, and reduce unpredictable behavior.
The session includes a live demo featuring an emulated BLE medical device, injected failures, and a React Native application recovering in real time all the way through to Live Activity updates.
Attendees will leave with practical techniques for designing resilient applications, handling asynchronous complexity, and improving reliability in production systems.
