I'm a React Native open-source developer at Software Mansion. I contribute to the React Native core and other projects that exist in the ecosystem like Hermes, react-native-wgpu, and react-native-gesture-handler. My colleagues often joke that I'm the “Godfather of Reanimated”. Personally, I'm a robotics enthusiast and passionate about embedded programming. I reach my peak of creativity when someone says, ‘No, this is impossible to do’.

Haptics is like music - how to design haptics that fits perfectly

Over 65% of users desire haptic feedback tailored to specific activities. Research shows that apps with high-quality haptics receive better reviews and enjoy stronger brand recognition. Haptics are essential because they make apps feel premium; they transfer not only information but emotion - much like music.

Despite this untapped potential, many developers struggle with implementation. Creating custom haptics is a nuanced craft, often likened to composing a melody. In this session, I will explain why quality haptics are vital and outline the key principles of effective haptic design.

I will also introduce Pulsar - Haptics Ecosystem, a new library with a rich collection of haptic presets and haptics toolset . Pulsar simplifies the design process, allowing developers to easily integrate and harvest the benefits of great haptics in their applications.
