Legacy React Native to Expo: What we learned migrating in the age of AI

Migrating a production React Native app to a modern Expo stack isn't just a technical challenge, it's a lesson in decision-making under pressure. In this talk, I'll walk through what it actually looked like to go from a legacy codebase to a fresh Expo setup: the navigation rewrites, the UI system, the things that broke, and the things we wish we'd done differently. I'll also be honest about where AI tooling helped us move faster and where it introduced bugs we didn't catch until it was too late.
