Bringing hot reload to your full Dart stack: backend, website, and database

Hot reload is a defining feature of Flutter, but what if it extended through your backend and database? How much faster could you ship?

In this session, we explore bringing true hot reload to the Dart server. From updating business logic on the fly to applying database migrations while the server runs, we’ll demonstrate a workflow where nothing stops, and everything stays in sync.

We’ll dive into the technical details: code reloading strategies, state preservation, and safely evolving schemas without downtime to create a cohesive, full-stack experience powered entirely by Dart.

We’ll also explore how this unlocks massive productivity when combined with AI agents. By integrating an MCP server, agents can generate and apply database migrations and backend logic in real time, all while your app keeps running.

Whether building prototypes or production systems, this talk will fundamentally change how you think about building full-stack apps.
