Flutter on Foldables: How hard could it be?

Foldables are the new frontier of mobile form factors. But for cross-platform developers, dynamic screen resizes, physical hinges, and exotic "postures" like Tabletop mode can feel like an architectural nightmare.

In this session, we aren’t just looking at slides—this entire presentation and live demo is running directly from a physical foldable phone.

As we physically bend and unfold the device on stage, we will bridge the gap between native Android hardware mechanics and Flutter widgets in real-time. We’ll dive under the hood to see how Flutter wraps Jetpack WindowManager natively, build a type-safe Kotlin-to-Dart Pigeon bridge to stream hardware telemetry, and prove that complex UI states are completely manageable.

Whether you are an Android engineer skeptical of Flutter’s hardware access, or a Flutter developer intimidated by the "crease," you will leave ready to conquer modern form factors and unfold your app’s true potential.
