Autopsy of Three Production Crashes: Flutter Native Interop, Old and New

Flutter's interop story is changing: Swift Package Manager is becoming the iOS default, and direct Dart calls into Swift and Kotlin are on the 2026 roadmap. Plenty of talks will explain the new APIs. This one dissects three real production incidents from a 30-million-user app, then re-examines each under the new interop model to see which failure classes disappear, which survive, and which new ones arrive.

The case files: a cross-app AccountManager signing-certificate mismatch between a native Android app and its embedded Flutter module, a Play Store packaging race condition that only crashed during install-time extraction, and a DNS resolution failure hitting one slice of mobile carriers. Along the way you gain the systems knowledge to reason about any interop bug yourself.
