Matthew "Makerinator" Jones is a Senior Innovation Engineer, Flutter developer, and maker based in Virginia Beach. He believes the best software has something physical attached to it. His presentations focus on the intersection of embedded hardware and modern app development. When he's not building fintech solutions at his day job, he's designing PCBs in KiCad, deploying Flutter on Raspberry Pi, and running Makerinator on YouTube. Matthew is what happens when a software developer gets a CNC router and too many ideas.

Bare Metal Flutter: Raspberry Pi, GPIO, and the Embedded Frontier

Your Flutter app is about to get physical!

This technical deep dive moves Flutter off the phone and onto single-board hardware… Specifically the Raspberry Pi. You'll learn how flutter-pi works, how to get it running, how to read and write GPIO pins from Dart, and how to optimize your system for embedded deployment.

Bonus content for the hardware-curious: a first look at designing a custom Pi HAT — taking your project from "wires everywhere" to "actually shippable"

Fair warning: after this talk, you're going to need a Raspberry Pi.
