AI has made it easier to ship apps but not easier to make apps people keep using. The apps that matter will be the ones that fit the person opening them. GenUI is a key enabler in this direction: the design system stays stable while the UI adapts to the user.

We will go from idea to architecture: what GenUI actually is (and is not), how the A2UI protocol makes it provider agnostic, and the four ideas that make it possible: surfaces, the catalog, the data model, and the transport.

Then we will dive into learnings from the genui features in production. I will share what production taught me about cost and performance when composing surfaces with GenUI.

I will close with a vision: not static screens for everyone, but screens shaped by what your backend knows about this user, at this moment.
